About Centre for Urban and Rural Development
A registered NGO turning government and CSR skilling mandates into real, trained, and assessed livelihoods for urban and rural communities.
Registered in 1993. Built for Scale Since 2017.
Centre for Urban and Rural Development (CURD) was registered in 1993 with a simple mandate: work at the intersection of skill, dignity and livelihood for India's underserved communities. Over the last several years, that mandate has translated into one of the more consistent delivery track records in the skill development space — 20 sanctioned projects and 48,574 candidates trained for state government welfare corporations and corporate CSR partners.
We work where the need is greatest: with Backward Classes, Kapu, Kamma, Reddy, Arya Vysya, Brahmin and Kshatriya welfare and development corporations across Andhra Pradesh, and with corporate partners like Natco Pharma, KNR Constructions, APL Health Care and Rainbow Children's Hospital Foundation on their CSR skilling commitments.

Our Mission
To deliver skill development programmes that convert sanctioned government and CSR project targets into real, assessed, employable capability — at scale, on time, and with full documentation.
Our Vision

How We Work
Community-rooted mobilisation, structured curriculum-based training, rigorous assessment, and transparent reporting back to every client — government or corporate.
